Lyle Kunz

Lyle Kunz, age 85, of Waseca passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2015 on his farm in rural Waseca.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Gregory Leif officiating. Interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Waseca.

Visitation will be held at McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 8:00 p.m. The visitation will continue for one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.

Lyle Joseph, son of Eldor and Agnes (Kaiser) Kunz, was born on September 13, 1930 on the farm in Wilton Township, Waseca County. He attended and graduated from Waldorf High School in 1947. Lyle was a farmer his entire life. He was united in marriage to Frances Donelan on July 14, 1952 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Janesville. He was a past member of many organizations including the Knights of Columbus, Fourth Degree, Pork Producers, Soybean Growers, and Corn Growers. He also served on many boards including the First National Bank, Lakeside, and on the Parish Council. Lyle enjoyed fishing, golfing, playing cards, and spending his winters in AZ with Frances for over 20 years. He had a great sense of humor and loved spending time with his family.

Lyle is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Frances Kunz of Waseca; children, Susan (William) Mitchell of Coon Rapids, Alan (Barb) Kunz of Waseca, Carol (Chris) Tangen of Burnsville, Joanne (Lance) Ludeman of Maple Valley, WA, and Jeff Kunz (Beth Wolner) of Waseca; grandchildren, Julie Roessler, Jana Piragic, Brian Kunz, Melissa Pfeiffer, Joel Kunz, Kelly Henneberry, Scott Tangen, Shawn Tangen, Brent Ludeman, Sarah Ludeman, Ryan Ludeman, Michael Kunz, and Laura Kunz; great grandchildren, Kyra, Carter, Joel, Alex, Gavin, Amelia, Lila, Mila, and Thomas; sisters, Lorraine (Norris) Jobe of Waterville and Blanche (Jay) Kramer of Sun City West, AZ; and by many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by his son, Kevin in 1962.
