Marshall Sloan

September 8, 1920 — April 15, 2016

Marshall W. Sloan, age 95 of Faribault, MN and formerly of Marshall, MO and Minneapolis, MN, the husband of Eileen (Schema) Sloan died on Friday, April 15, 2016 at his home at Faribault Senior Living.

Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault on Tuesday from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. followed by a prayer service at 6:00 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Marshall, MO. Interment with full military honors will be held at Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall, MO.

Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.

Arrangements in Marshall, MO are being completed by the Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home.

Memorials preferred to St. Peter's Catholic Church, Marshall, Divine Mercy Catholic Church, Faribault or to the donor's choice.

Born in Boonville, MO he married Jane Boatright in 1942 prior to his overseas deployment settling in Marshall, MO after the war. Marshall was a 36 year salesman and installer of floor covering for E.B. Winkelmeyer and Clay Mead Furniture stores in Marshall, MO, retiring in 1982.

Marshall joined the Missouri Army National Guard in Boonville, MO in 1937 eventually being deployed to Patton's 6th Armored Division, serving two years in Europe receiving the Bronze Star. Long time respected commander of the 35th Quartermaster Company, Missouri National Guard; he retired with rank of Major.

Relocating to Edina, MN in 1994 he married Eileen Schema. He was a former member of St. Richards Catholic Church, Richfield, MN, followed by Divine Mercy Catholic Church, Faribault. He was a member of Richfield VFW and Marian Council of Knights of Columbus, Richfield-Bloomington.

He is survived by his loving wife, Eileen Sloan; daughter, Beverly (Larry) Clause of Marshall, MO; son, Dr. Robert (Carol) Sloan of Chillicothe, MO; by 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; by three sisters, Kathryn Cauthon, Helen Marie Hoff and Betty (Kenny) Nauman, all of Missouri and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall I. and Stella Sloan, his first wife of 51 years Jane and his sister Margaret Lang.
