Patrick W. "Pat" Golden, age 93 of Faribault, MN passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at St. Lucas Care Center in Faribault following an extended illness.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive in Faribault, with Fr. Kevin Kenney officiating. Interment will be held with military honors at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Arrangements are being completed by the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault.
Patrick Wegman, the son of Harry John and Frances (Wegman) Golden was born on October 24, 1924 in Faribault, MN. He attended Faribault High School and graduated with the class of 1943. After high school Pat served in the U.S. Army during World War II and received his honorable discharged in 1946. On Feb. 6, 1947 he was united in marriage to Mary Alice Johnson in Faribault. Mary Alice preceded him in death on Oct. 27, 2014. Pat worked as a Master Electrician for different construction companies for over 45 years and was involved in many projects in the Faribault and Northfield area, especially with different hospital and school projects. He was a member of the Local 10 Union in St. Paul. Pat also worked part time for over 40 years at Jim & Joe Clothier's in Faribault. Pat was an avid gardener and especially enjoyed working in his flower gardens at his home. In retirement Pat and Mary Alice enjoyed spending their winters in Florida. He also enjoyed golfing, was skilled at many trades and was a perfectionist with his handy work.
He is survived by his granddaughter, Lauren (Rick) Morningstar; great granddaughter, Zoe Morningstar; by sister, Mary Jane Grebner of Hudson, WI; by son-in-law, Marvin Mirsky of Cape Coral, FL; by brother-in-law, Allen Johnson of Blooming Prairie, MN; by sister-in-law, Geraldine Oswald of Blooming Prairie, MN and by many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter, Linda Mirsky, brother, James Golden, sister, Catherine Thibodeau, sister-in-law, Georgeanne Toquam and two brothers-in-law, Dennis Grebner and Elmer Johnson.
