Phillip H. Ellerbusch, age 76 of Faribault, died on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at the St. Lucas Care Center in Faribault following an extended illness.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault with Bernadette Tatge, Pastoral Minister, officiating. Interment will be held at the St. Lawrence Cemetery, Faribault, with military honors provided by the Rice County Central Veterans Organization.

Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Phillip Harold, the son of Alfred and Elizabeth (Miller) Ellerbusch, was born on February 26, 1940 in Faribault, MN. Phil attended Faribault High School and later served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1959. Phil worked as a welder and mechanic at the asphalt plant for BMI for over 31 years. On November 18, 1977 he was united in marriage to Janice Cloutier. Phil enjoyed tinkering on just about anything, working on cars, fishing, deer hunting and most of all enjoyed gun smithing.

He is survived by his wife, Janice Ellerbusch of Faribault, MN; by three children, Leslie (Todd) Nielsen of Owatonna, MN, Jennifer Ellerbusch (Al Wolf) of Faribault, MN and Phillip Ellerbusch Jr. of Faribault, MN; by six grandchildren and two great grandchildren; by his brother, Tom (Liz) Ellerbusch of Casa Grande, AZ and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter, Hannah Boyer and sister, Janice Ellerbusch.
