The family moved back to Faribault in 1966, and Larry went to work for Parker Funeral Home. Eventually it became the Parker Kohl Funeral Home where he worked until his retirement in 1991. Larry was very dedicated to his work and continued education over the years. He became certified in eye enucleations and went on to earn the Melvin Jones award from the Lions Club of America for this skill, he displayed this award with pride. Larry was a lifelong member to many area service clubs including the Eagles, Lions, American Legion, Elks and the Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree, where he served as the Faithful Navigator for a time.
Larry and Lillas enjoyed dancing, traveling and being with friends and family. Together they planned annual family vacations "up north" so he could teach all his girls how to fish, one of his favorite pastimes.
