Caroline Budenske

Caroline M. Budenske, age 93 of Faribault, passed away suddenly on Friday, July 22, 2016 at the St. Lucas Care Center in Faribault.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, Faribault with the Rev. Byron Hagan officiating. Interment will be held at the Meadow Ridge Memorial Park, Faribault, with military honors provided by the Rice County Central Veterans Organization.

Memorial visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.

Arrangements are being completed by the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault.

Caroline Mary, the daughter of Joseph and Agnes (Beaupre) Burmeister, was born on May 1, 1923 in Faribault. She attended Faribault High School and graduated with the class of 1941. After high school Caroline attended St. Theresa's in Winona and later the Minnesota School of Business. Caroline then served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Stenographer and Clerk Typist. She received her honorable discharge in December of 1945. On April 19, 1947 she was united in marriage to Raymond Budenske at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Faribault. Caroline stayed at home to raise their family, but also did clerical work for her father and assisted her husband with their business, Budenske Insurance Agency. Caroline loved to play the organ and did so for many years at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church along with other churches in the area. She also volunteered her time to play at many of the area nursing homes for the residents. She was a member of the American Legion Post 43 Ladies Auxiliary in Faribault.

She is survived by her five children, Mary Ann Budenske of Casper, WY, Craig Budenske and Donna Mae McCamish of Ellendale, MN, Joan Trahan of Faribault, MN, Cindy (Dave) Bodine of Maple Grove, MN and John (Sarah) Budenske of Edina, MN; by eight grandchildren, Jeremiah Budenske, Amy Berry, Lisa (Chuck) Evert, Dean (Hope) Trahan, Katie (Cory) Fuhrmann, Laura Bodine and Scott Fischer, Joseph Budenske and Andrew Budenske; by six great grandchildren and by other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and her brother, Jim (Gloria) Burmeister.
