Charleen Penman

Charleen Ann Penman, age 84, of Faribault, MN, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2018 at the Pleasant Manor Nursing Home in Faribault.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, Faribault. Interment will be at the Meadow Ridge Memorial Park, Faribault.

Visitation will be held at the new location of Parker Kohl Funeral Home, 1725 Lyndale Ave. N., Faribault on Tuesday from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. and on Wednesday for one hour prior to the services at the church.

Charleen Ann was born on November 14, 1933 in Faribault to Frank Sr. and Eliza (Paquin) Zabel. She graduated from Bethlehem Academy with the class of 1952. Charleen married Harold "Babe" Penman on September 18, 1954. He preceded her in death on September 18, 1969. Charleen worked for the telephone company in Morristown before working as a dispatcher for Liberty Cab for 15 years. She enjoyed reading, knitting, and crocheting, and would regularly meet with her stitching club for many years. Charleen also volunteered for Meals on Wheels and the senior center's Clothes Closet.

She is survived by three children, Georgia (Dale) Schweisthal of Faribault, Sharon Kay (Douglas) Penning of Winona, and Randy (Vicki) Penman of Faribault; nine grandchildren, Nathan Schweisthal, Bethany Schweisthal, and Andrew Schweisthal, Jackson (Jordan) Penning and Claire Penning, and Crystal (Michael) Koranda, Courtney Penman, and Curtis Penman; six great grandchildren, Cameron, Nicholas, Summer Jo, Olivia, Gage, and Eleanor; four siblings, Donna Schultz, Frank Jr. (Lynn) Zabel, Kathy (Larry) Bryan, and Ronald (Judy) Zabel, all of Faribault; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold "Babe", parents, Frank Sr. and Eliza; sons, Harold "James" Penman and Philip Penman; grandson, Christopher Schweisthal; sister in infancy, Opal, and sister, Delores Fuller.
