Darlene A. Tripp, age 88 of Faribault, MN, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at the Three Links Care Center in Northfield, MN.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 10:30 am at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Dr., Faribault. Interment will be held at the Church of The Annunciation Cemetery in Hazelwood.
Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 am
The family prefers that memorials be directed to Pregnancy Options in Faribault in memory of Darlene.
Arrangements are being completed by the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault.
Darlene Anne, the daughter of Omer and Irene (Malloy) Oppegard was born on April 3, 1929 in Minneapolis, MN. She graduated high school and attended St. Lucas Nursing School and received her Registered Nurse Degree. She worked at Odd Fellows in Northfield, the Wilson Center in Faribault and retired from nursing with Faribault Area Hospice through District One Hospital. On October 20, 1975 she was united in marriage to Eugene "Gene" Tripp in Sioux Falls, SD. Gene preceded her in death on September 28, 2011. Darlene enjoyed reading, traveling, home decorating and collecting dishes and other items. She was a former member of the Daughters of Isabella and the Faribault Aerie 1460 Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary.
She is survived by her children, Char Anderson of Faribault, MN, Greg (Jenny) Karow of Rochester, MN and Cindy Karow of Faribault, MN; by stepchildren, Sharon (Michael) Stern, Bruce Tripp, Robert Tripp and Les (Carol) Ferris; by many grandchildren and great grandchildren; by her daughter-in-law, Marlene Karow of Faribault, MN; by her brothers, Robert (Gladyce) Broderick and Bill (Jane) DuPay, both of Webster, MN; by her sisters, Alice Paro of Northfield, MN, Donna (Wayne) Bauernfiend, Joan Herda and Gail (Mel) Smisek, all of Faribault, MN and Colleen DuPay of Northfield, MN; by her sister-in-law, Faye DuPay of Webster, MN and by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Mike Karow, two brothers, Darrell Oppegard and Joseph DuPay and her sister, Charolette Broderick.
