Doris Breyer

December 22, 1927 — June 9, 2017

Doris L. Breyer, age 89 of Faribault, MN, passed away on Friday, June 9, 2017 at the Reflections Unit at Three Links Care Center in Northfield, MN following an extended illness.

Private services will be held for the family with interment at North Grove Cemetery in Cannon City Township.

Arrangements are being completed by the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault.

Doris Luena, the daughter of Emil and Gladys (Maxfield) Carlson, was born on December 22, 1927 in Red Wing, MN. On September 2, 1944 she was united in marriage to Donald J. Breyer Sr. in Cannon Falls, MN. In 1954 they moved to their family farm north of Faribault and raised their nine children. Doris and Don both worked for Colonial Poultry Farms and later would own and operate Breyer Chickery and Gas in Faribault. Don preceded Doris in death on January 29, 2000. Doris was known for her tasty baked goods and enjoyed being a Foster Grandparent at Jefferson Elementary School in Faribault.

She is survived by three daughters, Linda (Larry) Klante, Eileen (Gary) Skluzacek and Terri (Gary) Kindseth, all of Faribault, MN; by five sons, Arland Breyer of Blaine, MN, Kevin (Kathie) Breyer of Mahtomedi, MN, Robert (Janet) Breyer of Faribault, MN, Bradley (Brenda) Breyer of Owatonna, MN and Richard (Carmen) Breyer of Faribault, MN; by her daughter-in-law, Pam Breyer of Faribault, MN; by 29 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild and by other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Donald J. Breyer Jr. and by her grandson, Arland Breyer Jr.
