Ellen M. Tetzloff, age 99, of Janesville passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at the Janesville Nursing Home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church in Janesville with Father Michael Cronin and Father Harry Jewison officiating. Interment will be held at St. Ann Cemetery in Janesville.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. prior to services at the church on Wednesday.
Memorials are preferred to the Janesville Nursing Home or the Project for Pride in Living in Minneapolis.
Ellen Tetzloff, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, matriarch, librarian to generations of school children, gentle lady, local celebrity, lover of books, baker of cookies, keeper of the tidiest house, she who secretly gave me dollar bills as if it were a federal crime, passed away on Saturday in Janesville, MN, the town where she spent nearly every day of her life. Ellen was united in marriage to Joseph Tetzloff on June 26, 1943 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Janesville.
Ellen is survived by her children, Mary (Mike) Burke of Rochester, Steve (Ellen) Tetzloff of Urbandale, IA, Patti (John) Berglund of St. Paul, and Karen (Mark) Elland of Beloit, WI; 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; siblings, Grace Kopischke of Rochester, Fr. Harry Jewison of Rochester, Rita (Jim) Byron of Waseca, and Joe (Rosie) Jewison of Janesville; and by many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and siblings, Elaine Sheeran, Artie Jewison, Faye Groh, and Bill Jewison.
