Gary Dumdei

Gary G. Dumdei, age 59, of Palmer, AK died on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth, Minnesota.

Memorial visitation will be held on Monday, February 22, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory in Janesville. A private family service will be held.

Gary Gordon, son of Gordon and June (Ziemke) Dumdei, was born on January 16, 1957 in Waseca, Minnesota. He attended and graduated from Waseca High School in 1975. Following his schooling, he began his lifelong career as a truck driver. He started trucking in Waseca before moving to Grand Rapids, Minnesota. Following his time there, he moved to Alaska where he owned and operated Minn-Alaska Transport for 19 years. He was a lifetime supporter of Safari Club International and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Gary is survived by his father, Gordon Dumdei of Blue Earth; sisters, Darla Hansen of Greeley, CO and Donna (Marlin) Krupp of Elmore, MN; nieces, Daun Rae Egli of Broomfield, CO and Kimber Lee Austin of Stugeon Bay, WI; nephew, Joel Hansen of Eaton, CO; step siblings, Neal Stubbs, Wayne Stubbs, and Cheryl Lovell all of Florida; dog, Bart; and by many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, June Dumdei and by his step mother, Ella (Stubbs) Dumdei.
