Lorraine Quinlan

Lorraine G. Quinlan, age 88 of Faribault, MN, died on Friday, Sept. 1, 2017 surrounded by her family at the Homestead Hospice House in Owatonna, MN.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017 at 10:30 am at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, in Faribault with Fr. Brandon Theisen, officiating. Interment will be held at St. Lawrence Cemetery, Faribault.

Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm and will continue at the church on Wednesday for one hour prior to services.

Lorraine, the daughter of Michael and Catherine (Ahlers) Steffes, was born on Dec. 16, 1928 in Granville, IA. Growing up, she moved with her family to a farm near Arthur, ND, in 1936. Later in 1943, they moved again to a farm near LaMoure, ND, where she graduated from high school. On Sept. 22, 1949, she was united in marriage to Elmer Quinlan at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in LaMoure, ND. They made their home there with their family until 1970, then moved to Faribault, MN. Lorraine worked 21 years as a CNA at Pleasant Manor in Faribault. Her faith and family were always her priorities. Lorraine also enjoyed family picnics and flower gardening. She volunteered at church as a Eucharistic Minister and with the Ladies Guild in LaMoure.

Lorraine is survived by her husband Elmer, her daughter Mary (Larry) Stuber of Barnum, MN, her sons, Steve of Hastings, MN, Kevin of Faribault, MN and Jeff (Patricia) of Faribault, MN, by nine grandchildren, Chad (Stacy) Stuber, Tod (Michelle) Stuber, Cory (Karin) Stuber, Kristi (Michael) Spindler, Nick Quinlan (Stephanie), Ben Quinlan, Shauna (Josh) Enget, Desiree Quinlan and Andrea (Greg) Haney, by 14 great grandchildren, her brothers, Clarence (Marjo) Steffes of Bismarck, ND and Leo Steffes of North Royalton, OH and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter, Billie Jo Johnson and by four sisters, Irene Prochniak, Florence Schmidt, Bernice Watkins and Alice Jean Gentzkow.
