Marcella K. "Sally" Kahnke, age 98, of Waseca, MN died Sunday, May 1, 2016 at the Lake Shore Inn Nursing Home in Waseca.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca, with Fr. Gregory Leif, pastor, officiating. Interment will be held at the Calvary Cemetery in Waseca.
Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.
Arrangements are being completed by the McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory of Waseca.
Marcella Kathryn Eischen, the daughter of Matt and Anna (Simon) Eischen was born on July 21, 1917 in Algona, IA. Being one of the oldest of 9 children, she claims that they were always kind to one another. She was united in marriage to Earl Kahnke and they were later divorced. Sally never had any children, however, her niece, Robin Janssen is very close to her and takes care of her needs. Sally worked at Herter's and E.F. Johnson Co. for many years. She also worked at Bird's Eye and for Itron through the Waseca Senior Center. She is a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca and the Catholic Daughters. Sally has been a resident of Lake Shore Inn since 2006. She enjoys being in social settings with the other residents, watching TV, playing bingo and attending the various musical and religious programming.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews and her friends and staff at the Lake Shore Inn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, by four brothers, Art, Lawrence, Alex, Ray and Orville Eischen and by three sisters, Viola Cordova, Loretta Jensen and Arlene Wilker.
