Miyoko Dickison

March 15, 1935 — August 18, 2016

Miyoko Dickison, age 81 of Faribault, died on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN following a sudden illness.

Private family services will be held with interment at St. Lawrence Cemetery in Faribault, MN.

Miyoko, the daughter of Suehiro Ogawa and Matau Shinozaki was born on March 15, 1935 in Tokyo, Japan. Miyoko attended grade school, high school and business college in Tokyo with the intention of succeeding her father in their family business. During this time she would meet her future husband and career U.S. Air Force member Richard Dickison. They were united in marriage on October 15, 1957 in Tokyo. Dick's career took them to different countries and in 1973 when he retired they moved back to Faribault. Miyoko stayed at home to care for their growing family. She loved spending time with her family and being with all of them. She was a great baker and always had a fresh loaf of bread made. She also enjoyed trips to the casino, her dog Tiger, her crafts, especially knitting and crocheting, and spending time in her gardens.

She is survived by her five children, Sue (Steve) Bishop of Pierson, MI, Jim (Michelle) Dickison of St. Louis, MO, Rich (Jackie) Dickison of Faribault, MN, Mike (Karen) Dickison of Ashburn, VA and Bill (Heidi) Dickison of Kansas City, MO; by 20 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; by brothers-in-law, Fred (Carol) Dickison and Don (Nancy) Dickison, both of Faribault, MN; by sisters-in-law, Lois Condon and Nancy (Jim) Talley, both of Palmyra, MO; by her family living in Japan and nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
