Rita M. Dickie, age 84, of Waseca passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Lake Shore Inn Nursing Home in Waseca.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 19, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca with Father Gregory Leif officiating. Interment will be held at a later date.
Memorial visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer's Association.
Rita Mae, daughter of Glen and Edna (Green) Theis, was born on September 27, 1931 in St. Peter, Minnesota. She attended St. Peter High School and graduated in 1949 . Following her schooling, she was united in marriage to Donovan Dickie on July 2, 1950. Rita was a loving and caring wife and mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Rita loved making crafts, golfing, playing cards and being a member at Lakeside Golf Club in Waseca. She operated Dorita Crafts several years later with good friend Dorothy Hintz. Rita worked for the University of Minnesota Southern School of Agricultural in Waseca for over 10 years and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church Waseca.
Rita is survived by her husband, Don Dickie of Waseca; sons, Mark Dickie, Jeff (Jackie) Dickie, Kevin (Cindy) Dickie and Todd (Debra) Dickie all of Waseca and daughter Jane Dickie (Steve Miller) of Manley, Iowa; thirteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; brother, Tom (Char) Theis of Cleveland, MN; and by many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, JoAnn Burris.
