Alvin W. Klocke

Alvin W. Klocke, age 92 of Faribault, MN passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at the Emeralds at Faribault following an extended illness.

Alvin William, the son of Ambrose and Margaret (Brinks) Klocke was born on January 17, 1931 in Carroll, IA.  On September 11, 1950 he was united in marriage to Louanna Loew in Hayfield, MN.  After their marriage they moved to Askov, MN where they farmed for several years and Alvin also did carpentry work.  Later they would move to Pine River, MN where they purchased a bakery.  Alvin enjoyed being a handyman and working on projects at his home and working projects for his family.  He would make beautiful rosaries and little wood cowboy boots for people.  He also helped Louanna make quilts.  Alvin was an active church member and sang in different church choirs.  He also enjoyed volunteer work, gardening, playing cards and fishing with his grandchildren who enjoyed that very much.

He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Louanna Klocke; by his children, Charlotte Klocke, Gene Klocke (Marissa Villegas), Norman (Debbie) Klocke, Alan (Barb) Klocke, Daryl (Connie) Klocke, Cindy (Galen) Beck, Susan (David) Jorgensen, Glen (Aniza) Klocke and Gerald (Jennifer) Klocke; by 32 grandchildren and 54 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; by his sisters, Betty LaVan and Joan Hoffmier; by his brother-in-law, George Sonderman and by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, by his grandchildren, Jacob Klocke and Candace Hurd, by his brother, Lawrence Klocke and by seven sisters, Delores Leiting, Marion Grossman, Margie Sturm, Alvernia Irlmeier, Lois Sellers, Diane Sonderman and Carlene Goecke.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault with Sr. Kathleen Hayes officiating.  Interment will be held at St. Lawrence Cemetery, Faribault.

Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home on Saturday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
