Arturo "Art" Salazar

Arturo “Art” Salazar, age 46, of Montgomery, MN, passed away April 25, 2025, at M Health Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, MN following an extended illness.

Arturo, the son of Graciela Salazar, was born on November 29, 1978, in Wasco, CA. He married Maria Pelayo on April 26, 2003. Art worked as a landscaper for many years. Art enjoyed reading, writing, and learning about history. He took a great interest in military history, and knew a great amount about knives, guns, and airplanes. Art was very artistic and used calligraphy to write many letters. He enjoyed fishing with his friends, was a great storyteller, and was loved by many. Most of all, he enjoyed being in the company of his family.

He is survived by his wife, Maria Salazar; children, Illianna Salazar, Zuriel Salazar, and Sophia Salazar; stepfather, Miguel Contreras; siblings, Anna Contreras, Patricia Reyes, Angel Contreras, and Susanna Contreras; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Graciela; and his grandmother, Felicita Salazar.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of St. Dominic, 104 Linden St. N., Northfield, MN. Visitation will be held on Friday from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the church.
