Barbara J. Smith

Barbara “Barb” Smith, age 70 of Blooming Prairie, MN passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 28, 2025 at the Mayo Clinic Health System Mankato.

Barbara Jo, the daughter of Robert and Carol (Betcher) Lutes, was born on June 12, 1955 in Fargo, ND. She attended Fargo South High School. Barb was united in marriage to Michael Smith in Fargo. They later moved to Southern Minnesota. She worked in administration for the Owatonna Mayo Clinic. While she wasn’t working, Barb enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, listening to music while singing along.

Barb is survived by her daughter, Nicole Smith of Napa, CA; sister, Cheryl (Kurt) Quanbeck; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Michael.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.

Funeral arrangements are being completed by the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory.
