Beatrice Schmidt

Beatrice Helen Schmidt, age 96, of Faribault, died Saturday, March 14, 2009 at the Pleasant Manor Nursing Home in Faribault.             Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault. Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Faribault. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Beatrice Helen Schuldt, the daughter of John W. and Mary (Vanura) Schuldt, was born in St. Paul on November 5, 1912, and later moved to Faribault. She graduated from Bethlehem Academy and attended the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul. On August 16, 1949, she was united in marriage to Wallace Schmidt of Faribault. After raising their family, Helen worked for the Faribault Area Vocational School in the Ag Department; also for United Managers as their secretary, and after retiring she volunteered for Faribault Area Hospice, doing their mailings. She was an active member of the Faribault Eagle's Auxiliary. Helen is survived by her son, Frank (Kay) Schmidt of Owatonna; step-son, Tom (Nancy) Schmidt of Faribault; step daughter-in-law, Gladys Schmidt of Deer River, MN; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and brother-in-law, Don Schmidt of Faribault. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Wally in 1988; her step-son, Richard Schmidt on March 7, 2009; her brother, John Schuldt; and a step-daughter, Carole Henderson.
