Bernadette M. "Bernie" Meehl

Bernadette M. “Bernie” Meehl, age 91, of Faribault, MN, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2026, at Faribault Senior Living in Faribault.

Bernadette Margaret, the daughter of Alexander and Catherine (Chavie) Caron, was born on July 12, 1934, in Faribault. She was united in marriage to Donald Meehl on June 2, 1951, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Faribault. Bernie worked in sales her entire career. She worked at Mahler’s Hardware, Poirier Drug Store, and lastly with Nona Boyes Fashion. Bernie was skilled in sewing and crafting, making many formal dresses during her career. She also used her talents to reupholster furniture for many people. Bernie and Don enjoyed their time camping at Cedar Lake for many years, and she took great joy in hosting her family for the holidays. She was a member of the Faribault Moose Lodge Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by her sons, Brad Meehl (Cheryl), Bruce Meehl, and David Meehl; 10 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; sister, Mercedes Samuels (Harry); and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; son, Dean Meehl; daughter, Debra Newcombe; daughter-in-law, Shelly Meehl; grandson, Christopher Rodewald; parents, Alexander and Catherine; three brothers, Donald, Clifford, and Richard Caron; and two sisters, Phyllis Kuhlman, and Bernadine Johnson.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home, 1725 Lyndale Ave. N., Faribault, with Bernadette Tatge, officiating. Interment will be at the Meadow Ridge Memorial Park in Faribault. Visitation will be held on Friday from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.
