Cecelia Bell

February 13, 1922 — September 19, 2017

Cecelia T. Bell, age 95, of Faribault, MN, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at her home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 29, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, Faribault. Interment will be at the Annunciation Church Cemetery in Hazelwood, MN.

Visitation will be held on Friday for one hour prior to the services at the church.

Arrangements are with the Parker Kohl Funeral Home of Faribault.

Cecelia Theresa was born on February 13, 1922 in Faribault to Daniel and Julia (Lorem) Wall. She was the last one. She lost two husbands, who both adored her: Donald Opstein and Dr. Arthur Bell. She lost her parents: Daniel and Julia Wall, her brother, George (Evelyn) Wall, sisters, Mary Wall, Julia (Bruce) Lowden, Cate (Leonard) Dufresne, and Elizabeth (Art Roberts, Francis Langeslag, Marty) Strohfus.

She is survived by multi-generational nieces and nephews, great and great-greats.

Cece loved to dance. She taught a few of us how to do the "box step". "If you know this, you can dance to anything (except rap)." Well, she was right! But we didn't know she was teaching us to dance with her. If you were close, and there was music, you were dancing with her.

She was proud to be Irish. Her father was born in 1860, son of immigrants of the potato famine. He started late in life, but produced six beautiful children, every one of which affected the nieces and nephews in some "cool" way.

She was awarded a Congressional Gold Medal as a member of the Civil Air Patrol during WWII.

Great life Cece!
