Charlie left us for the final time Tuesday morning (February 17, 2026) - without much notice as usual. After a sudden and irreversible illness of natural cause that took him away. He was found unresponsive in his Michigan home, couldn’t communicate, unconscious, nothing could be done at the hospital to repair or revive him, friends and co-workers there only had a very brief time to say goodbye. "Chuck/ Charlie/ Dad" lived and died on his own terms and schedule. Came and went as he needed to and probably had little regret in the end. Charlie was a man of conviction, ambition, addiction, eviction, and affliction depending on the day or situation. He always took risks, fought hard, thought deeply within, and kept track of every win or loss internally.
To those who knew or loved him - you may miss all the questions about "so what's new? how's your business, love life, or health etc..? What are you doing for fun these days?" He asked a lot of questions but rarely gave answers - and you can quit looking for them. That's ok, that was him. This notice will surprise anyone who didn't know he was still around or just talked to him last week or last month.... wondering when they would hear from him next.
Dad got very sick in November 2016 with cancer and liver disease diagnosis', among other underlying health issues. Many years ago, during those days at his bedside in Michigan, I started writing this obituary then, but we shared and connected a lot during that week, and wouldn't you know that "tough old bird" decided to make another run and fight through subsequent surgeries, and setbacks to recover. We heard each other, communicated through notepads, sign language, and emails until the doctors got him back together enough for speech therapy and talking again. He ultimately was able to start working and living again. Charlie had an amazing comeback which re-wrote the last 10 years of his life.
He slowed down, re-evaluated, got healthier than ever, started competing in senior weight-lifting, visited us in MN each year, worked harder on relationships than business, and was blessed with great-grandchildren🙂there didn't seem to be any more risk taking or angry living ...changes for the better. He talked recently about a mostly stress-free life delivering happiness to others in the form of delicious JETS PIZZA, he enjoyed the job and his co-workers, he looked forward to each day. He spent his time working out, polishing rocks, watching crypto charts and keeping to himself. Charlie will be missed - again, but permanently and lovingly this time. Thank you for the life lessons Dad, I use them all every day. Your Family and friends loved you more than you would ever let them show or wanted to know.
He is survived by his son, Bryan Wolfe (Jessica); granddaughter, Jaycee Fiers (Ben), and their children, Vivee and Jordee, granddaughter, Halle Wolfe (fiancé, Ryan Leum; brother, James Wolfe; sisters, Mary Lou Lockwood, and Kathleen Smisek (Jim); many nieces, and nephews; former spouse, Karen (Anderson) Agee; special friends, Chantal Yoblonski and Madisen; and his entire Jets Pizza family in Michigan and co-worker Kelly who alerted Bryan of concern. THANK YOU!
He was preceded in death by his mother, Bernice Fiebiger (Mertes), Step-father, Sylvester “Babe” Fiebiger, and birth father, Burton Wolfe.
In lieu of memorials or flowers, the family would rather you remember Charlie by ordering a pizza delivery from JETS Pizza if you have one in your area or your favorite place and just give an extra special TIP to the delivery driver #TipsforCharlie. To pay it forward for him and them.
