Charlotte McDonough, age 82, of Faribault, MN passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at her home following an extended illness.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at a later date and will be announced.
Charlotte Erna was born on August 20, 1937 in Faribault, MN to George and Martha (Harms) Poch. She graduated from Faribault High School with the class of 1955. Charlotte was united in marriage to Richard McDonough on April 30, 1960 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Faribault. She worked alongside her husband, Dick, with the operation of McDonough Truck Line and raised her family.
Charlotte simply enjoyed life and appreciated the fun memories with family and friends. Her warm smile and personality will never be forgotten. She enjoyed music and her many outings with Dick dancing to polka music. Charlotte had great love and pride for her grandchildren and great grandchildren, cherishing the moments with them. She often requested and was never denied a personal concert by family members; piano, singing, guitar, all instruments were truly treasured. She loved her home along the river. She cared for her large garden and yard, always with abundant flowers. She loved nothing more than relaxing by the river, taking a pontoon ride, watching her grandchildren waterski, and enjoying a glass of wine; all with her husband by her side. Dick and Charlotte were just shy of celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary. 60 years of being each other’s biggest fan, side by side through it all!
She is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Dick McDonough of Faribault; her children, David (Mar) McDonough of Faribault, MN; Ron (Jean) McDonough of Lonsdale, MN; Jerry (Lisa) McDonough of Faribault, MN; Steve McDonough of Faribault, MN; Kathy (John) Kastner of Cape Coral, FL; Holly (Paul) Pickering of Chaska, MN; Patrick (Erin) McDonough of St Croix Falls, WI; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings, George (Gloria) Poch; sister in law, Darlene Poch; brother in law, Mick (Sharon) McDonough; sister in law, Sandy McDonough, and sister in law, Jean (Mike) Montgomery; and many nieces and nephews.
