Donald H. Remick, age 87, of Northfield, MN, passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at the Northfield Long Term Care Center.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 2, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Dominic's Catholic Church in Northfield, with Fr. Dennis Dempsey, pastor, officiating. Interment will be held at the Calvary Cemetery in Faribault with military honors provided by Central Veterans Association.

Memorial visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. at the new location of Parker Kohl Funeral Home, 1725 Lyndale Ave. N., Faribault and on Monday for one hour prior to the services at the church.

Donald Henry was born on September 22, 1930 in Forest Township, Rice County, MN to William and Nellie (O'Brien) Remick. He graduated from Faribault High School with the class of 1948. Donald served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was united in marriage to Joan Murphy on July 1, 1953, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Faribault. After his discharge from the Navy, Don farmed prior to being the Milk DHIA Supervisor for Rice County for 10 years. He then worked as a heavy equipment operator for Rice County for 26 years, retiring in 1996. Throughout all his working years, Don also worked on his hobby farm. He was a member of the American Legion Post 43 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4393.

He is survived by his children, Michael (Denyse) Remick of Owatonna, MN, Connie Remick (Steve Rinderknecht) of Northfield, Patrick (Mary Jo) Remick of Prior Lake, MN, and Richard Remick of Northfield; six grandchildren, Andrew (fiancé Barb), Alyssa, Ellie, Lindsey (fiancé Justin), Mackenzie (Justin), and Courtney; great grandson, Warren; niece, Linda (Jim) Palmer; nephew, Jim (Cathy) Carpenter; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan on December 6, 2006; parents, William and Nellie; brother, Ronald Remick; sister, Arlene Carpenter; and great niece, Ivy Carpenter.
