Donald E. Zwanziger

Donald Eugene Zwanziger, 80, of Faribault, passed away peacefully in the morning hours of August 6^th, 2023, he was surrounded by family.

Donald served in the military in the 1960’s and worked on radio maintenance and was also a marksman.  He spent those years traveling Europe seeing many sights and often remarked later in life that it was one of the greatest experiences of his life.  He also served as a police officer and worked for Waste Management for many years.  Uncle Don, or “Donny” as he was affectionately known, loved reclining in his favorite easy chair curled up with not one book, but several at one time!  He enjoyed fishing with his buddies and hunting with his dog Banjo in his younger days.  Don loved spending time with his family and listening to music.  Some of his favorites were Bob Seger, George Jones, Elvis, and of course, Janis Joplin.  He was an animal lover and always had a dog by his side.

Donald is preceded in death by his father Howard, mother Ellen, and brothers James, Robert and Dicki Zwanziger.

He left behind two loving sisters and a brother; Barbara (Rodney) Vosejpka, Judy Gores, Terrance (Gwen) Zwanziger, and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

He will be sorely missed but never forgotten.

Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at 10:30 A.M. at Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis with military honors.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. at the funeral home prior to the service.
