Donna G. Hengel

Donna G. Hengel, age 70, of Faribault, MN, passed away October 27, 2024, at the Mala Strana Rehabilitation Center in New Prague, MN.

Donna Grace was born on July 23, 1954, in Springfield, MN, the daughter of Luverne and Keiko (Kitamura) Hengel. She graduated from Faribault High School and the LPN program at the Faribault Vocational School. Donna worked at the Faribault Regional Center before her schooling at Inver Grove Heights to become a Registered Nurse and learning sign language. She then worked a lengthy career at the St. Peter Correctional Facility until her retirement. She was married to Armand J. Malecha on June 20, 1992. Donna had a giving heart, sense of humor, love for animals, and enjoyed playing card games. She always had a good time with friends and had many adventures including camping and fishing.

She is survived by her nieces, Jennifer Ahlman of Faribault, and Maia Kershaw of Reno, NV; nephew, Jason Ahlman of Faribault; great nephews and niece, Brandon Ahlman of Faribault, Megan Kershaw, and Andrew Kershaw, both of Reno; sister, Kathleen Hengel of Red Wing, MN; uncle, Robert Hengel of Bloomington, MN; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Armand; son, Dominic Hengel; parents, Luverne and Keiko; sister, Linda Hengel; uncle, Ellsworth Hengel; and niece, Jaqueline Ahlman.

Private family services were held.
