Donna (Matejcek) Murphy Stauff, age 99 of Faribault, MN passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at Faribault Senior Living.
Donna was born in Le Center, MN to Antoinette (Traxler) and Charles Matejcek. In 1949 she married John Murphy of Kilkenny where they raised their 5 children until they moved to Faribault in 1963. Her Catholic faith was very important to her, and she made sure all her children attended the Immaculate Conception Elementary School and Bethlehem Academy High School. She was a member of the Council of Catholic Women, the Rosary Society and the American Legion Auxiliary. Donna worked at the Ben Franklin store and then at the Faribault Woolen Mill for 22 years until she retired.
In 1994 John passed away but she found happiness again when she reconnected with an old acquaintance from her teen years. In 2003 she married John Stauff and moved to California where they were very happy until he passed in 2005. She returned to Minnesota to spend her remaining years with her family. For the last two and a half years, she received the best possible care and spent many happy moments with the amazing staff at Faribault Senior Living. Her Hospice team was unbelievably caring and supportive.
Donna is survived by her children, Charlie (Carrie) Murphy, Kathy (Roger) Kolsrud, Annette (Brad) Schwartz, LuAnn (Jim) Heyer and Tim (Molly) Murphy; step-children, Jenny (Bill) Ayers, Carrie Moen and Henry Stauff; grandchildren, Chris, Ben, Heidi, Eric, Joey, Pete, Jack, Nick and Erin; step-grandchildren, Madeline and Andrew; 10 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Tom Matejcek; husband, John Murphy; and second husband, John Stauff.
