Dorothy Patee

Dorothy J. Patee, age 87, of Faribault, MN, passed away Saturday, July 1, 2017, at the Reflections Care Suites in Northfield, MN.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at the new location of Parker Kohl Funeral Home, 1725 Lyndale Ave. N., Faribault, with Rev. Dana Houck, pastor of Hope United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be at Meadow Ridge Memorial Park in Faribault.

Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Dorothy Joan was born on July 27, 1929 in Palmer, Iowa to Rudolph J. and Lillie (Metzer) Andersen. She graduated from West Concord High School in 1948 and was married to Edward (Bud) Patee on July 19, 1948 in Nashau, Iowa. Dorothy worked at the Faribault Canning Co., Andrew's Nursey, and retired from Mealey's Candies. She enjoyed fishing and camping up north, watching birds and squirrels, and reading. She also loved to polka dance with Bud, along with listening to polka, country western music and watching the Country Music Awards. She was a member of the Faribault Aerie 1460 Fraternal Order of Eagle's Auxiliary.

She is survived by her children, Steven (Joan) Patee of Faribault, Diane (Dave) Hollingsworth of Waterville, MN, and Rita Kaderlik (Doug Macrae) of Faribault; 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; two sisters, Agnes Mae Van Hoff of Kenyon, MN, and Ruby (Bob) Ray of Rochester, MN; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bud on December 7, 2007; parents, Rudolph and Lillie; sister, Nona Vanderhoff; and two brothers-in-law, Lloyd Van Hoff and Spink Vanderhoff.
