Dorothy Wilde

Dorothy C. Wilde, age 98, of Albert Lea, MN, passed away August 29, 2018 at the St. John's Lutheran Home in Albert Lea.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2018, from 12:00 - 3:00 p.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home, 1725 Lyndale Ave. N., Faribault, MN. Interment will be held a St. Lawrence Cemetery, Faribault.

Dorothy Carol, the daughter of Peter and Anna (Torkelson) Christensen, was born on November 29, 1919 in Faribault. She attended Faribault Senior High and graduated with the class of 1937. On October 4, 1939 she was united in marriage to Francis H. Wilde. Together they farmed on several farms in the Northfield and Faribault area. Francis preceded her in death on May 31, 1970. Dorothy worked as a hospital aide at the Faribault State Schools, retiring after 25 years of employment. She volunteered for 18 years with the Foster Grandparent Program, receiving awards for her volunteerism. She enjoyed attending church, Christian bible studies, and visiting with friends and family. Most of all she loved her children.

Dorothy is survived by her son, James (Cheryl) Wilde; grandchildren, Lawrence St. Martin, Ron (Valerie) St. Martin, Robert (Cathy) Wilde, TammyDee (Donnie) Jindra, and Jeff Schroeder; great grandchildren; great great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis; daughters, Wanda Helling, and Marian Campbell; parents, Peter and Anna; brothers, Walter, Alfred, Raymond, and Milo Christensen; and grandson, Timothy David Schroeder.
