Douglas W. Macrae

Douglas W. Macrae, age 72, of Faribault, MN, passed away July 12, 2026, at the Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.

Douglas Wilson, the son of Robert and Dorothy (Folsom) Macrae, was born on December 4, 1953, in Newton, MA. Doug graduated from Vero Beach High School and served in the U.S. Navy from 1974 – 1978.

Doug’s passion was photography, and he shared that with his son. He captured many graduations, weddings, and family events, but also loved nature and photographing a wide variety of wildlife images.

He is survived by his son, Logan Douglas Macrae; partner of over 20 years, Rita Kaderlik; siblings, Janet Gundermann, Rich Macrae, Don Macrae, Michael Macrae, Fran Macrae Torres, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Dorothy; and siblings, David Macrae, Robert Macrae, and Judith Henderson.

A Celebration of Doug’s life will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. at the American Legion, 112 5th St. NE, Faribault.
