Everett Ostermann

Everett S. Ostermann, age 59, of Faribault, passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2008, surrounded by his family at the Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, following a courageous and brave battle with cancer.   Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Shieldsville. Interment will be at the St. Patrick Cemetery with military honors provided by the Rice County Central Veterans Association.   Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday for one hour prior to the services at the church.   Memorials may be directed to the choice of the donor in memory of Everett.   Everett Stanley Ostermann, the son of Stanley and Frieda (Hammel) Ostermann, was born on May 24, 1949 in Gaylord, MN. He graduated from Gaylord High School and served in the U.S. Army for two years as a Military Policeman, with one year of service in Vietnam. He was married to Myrna Hoehn in Mankato. Everett graduated from Mankato State University with degrees in Accounting and Aviation Management. He was a Certified Public Accountant and a founding partner in Judd, Ostermann & Demro. Everett was a member and active in many organizations including: Rice County Sportsfishing, Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, Sertoma, American Legion Post 43, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1562, River Bend Nature Center, Faribault Knights of Columbus Council 889, Faribault Chamber of Commerce, the NRA, and board member of the Shieldsville Association and St. Patrick's Church. Everett had a passion for hunting, fishing, enjoying the outdoors and passing that passion on to his children and grandchildren.   He is survived by his wife, Myrna of Faribault; three children, Melissa (Scott) Donkers of Faribault, Lucas (April) Ostermann of Faribault, and Megan (Derek) Grimsrud of Indianola, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Katarina, Connor, Jack, and Chester Donkers, Macy and Ethan Grimsrud, and Garrett Ostermann; two sisters, Karen Gehrke of Hutchinson and Diane (Leo) Bauer of Gaylord; brother, Arlen (Karen) Ostermann of Good Thunder; father and mother-in-law, Alfred and Shirley Hoehn of Faribault; brothers-in-law, James (Pat) Hoehn of Madison Lake and Brad (Gary) Hoehn of Mankato; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.   He was preceded in death by his parents.
