George Mullenberg

George "Jerry" Mullenberg, age 79, of Faribault, MN, passed away peacefully Friday, March 24, 2017 at his home with his family at his side.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, Faribault. Interment with honors will be at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.

Memorial visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory on Tuesday from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. and on Wednesday for one hour prior to the services at the church.

George Gerald was born on January 21, 1938, in Faribault to George A. and Beldora (Skaar) Mullenberg. He graduated from Bethlehem Academy in 1955 and then served in the U.S. Navy until his honorable discharge in 1959. George was married to Elizabeth (Betty) Jandro on May 28, 1960 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Faribault. He worked for Minnegasco in Minneapolis for 39 years until his retirement in 1999. George was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1562, American Legion Post 43, and Faribault Council 889 Knights of Columbus. He served on the Navy ships, USS EF Larson and US Columbus.

He is survived by his wife, Betty of Faribault; sons, Russ (Pam) of Faribault, Gene (Kris) of Waterville, Mike (Lisa) of Shakopee, Robb (Cheryl) of Faribault, and Roger (Lori) of Faribault; 15 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; six sisters, Barb Duchene, Judy (Richard) Wunderlich, Georgia (Howard) Quamme, Mary Jo Tostrude, Janelle (Ken) Zitzman, and Jane (Lester) Jante; brother-in-law, Harold Chappuis; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Gretchen Chappuis; brothers-in-law, Walter Duchene and Ordean Tostrude; infant brother, Timothy; and infant twin brother and sister.
