Gladys H. Mascarenhas, age 88, of Kenyon, MN passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, September 9, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home, 1725 Lyndale Ave. N., Faribault.
Memorial visitation will be held for one hour prior to the services.
Gladys Helen was born on February 7, 1931 in Riceland Township, Freeborn County, MN to Louis and Minnie (Wolff) Frodin. She was married to Patrick Evans, they had seven children and were later divorced. Gladys was married to Joe Mascarenhas on August 13, 1974 in Golden, CO. Together they owned and operated a bar/restaurant “The Neighbors” in Colorado for four years. She also was a real estate agent, drove school bus and worked in food service for University of Northern Colorado. They lived in Colorado for 38 years before moving to Minnesota in 2012. Gladys enjoyed crocheting, knitting, gardening and was a tremendous baker. She and Joe enjoyed going to the casino in their retirement. Gladys was always a giving person, consistently caring for others.
She is survived by her husband, Joe Mascarenhas; children, Tim (Diane) Evans, Peggy Gann (Hunter Smith), Joe (Carla) Evans, Amy (David) Nevis, Katy Mossberg, and Wendy (Michael) Sena; numerous grandchildren, and great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Minnie; son, Michael Evans; daughter, Patsy Marx; three sisters and two brothers.
