Harold George Barry

August 2, 1930 — May 9, 2025

Faribault

Harold George Barry, 94, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on May 9th, 2025.

He was born on August 2nd, 1930, in Faribault, Minnesota, to the late Lawrence and Isabelle Barry. Harold, affectionately known as Harry, was one of nine children. He was preceded in death by his siblings Robert, Richard, Patrick, William, Mary Ellen, Catherine, and Michael. He is survived by his brother Lawrence (Judy).

In 1951, Harry married the love of his life, Joanne Chappius. They shared 67 wonderful years of marriage until her passing in 2017. Together, they settled in La Habra, California, where they raised their three children: Bruce (Cathy), Roxanne (Stephen), and Cathy (Richard).

Harry was a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren—Brian, Rochelle, Danielle, Zachary, Nicholas, Brittany, Angie, Lisa, and Paula—as well as 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

In 1991, shortly before retirement, Harry and Joanne moved to Corona, California, to enjoy a quieter lifestyle. They shared a love for gardening—especially roses—and birdwatching. Harry also enjoyed golfing and cherished every moment spent with his family.

Professionally, Harry had a remarkable 41-year career at Kirkhill Rubber, where he served as Traffic Manager. He also proudly held the role of President of the Citrus Belt Traffic Club for two years.

Two years ago, Harry relocated to Chandler, Arizona, where he quickly became an active member of his new community. He treasured the friendships he made and the visits from his loving family. Harry lived a full, joyful life and was deeply devoted to those he loved.

A burial for both Harold and Joanne will be held in Faribault, Minnesota, at Calvary Cemetery on September 6th, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.
