Faribault

Harvey R. Kuhlman, age, 95 of Faribault, MN passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at the Benedictine Living Community in Owatonna, MN following an extended illness.

Harvey Richard, the son of Edwin and Emelia (Grohman) Kuhlman was born on May 23, 1929, at their family farm in Wheeling Township, Rice County, MN. He attended Faribault High School and graduated with the class of 1947. Following high school Harvey served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On September 7, 1953, he was united in marriage to Patricia Dwyer at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Faribault. Pat preceded him in death on October 10, 2021. They lived in Medford, MN for many years and later moved to Faribault. Harvey first worked as a milk hauler and then worked at Treasure Cave for many years as the lead cheese maker. After Treasure Cave Harvey worked for over 30 years in the heating and cooling department at the Faribault Regional Center. Harvey and Pat catered many weddings and anniversaries over the years. He also coached basketball for 7th and 8th grade at Sacred Heart School and was an active member of the Knights of Columbus. Harvey was a talented handy man and could fix anything. He was an avid wood worker and enjoyed time spent in his wood working shop. He enjoyed fishing and square dancing with Pat. He was a member of the American Legion Post 43 in Faribault and the Medford Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his children, Kathy (Don) Koop of Pleasant Prairie, WI, Mike (Laurane) Kuhlman of Menomonie, WI, Tim (Joan) Kuhlman of Clark, SD, Jeff (Evie) Paukert of Shelton, WA, Dan (Donna) Kuhlman of Rochester, MN, Scott (Ann) Paukert of Zumbrota, MN, Kris (Bob) Latcham of Paynesville, MN and Kyle (Rika) Kuhlman of West Des Moines, IA; by 18 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by Pat, his parents, baby sister in infancy and two brothers, Arnie and Vernard Kuhlman.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 5, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church in Medford with Fr. Joseph Pete, officiating. A rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. at the Church. Interment will be held at the Resurrection Cemetery, Medford.

Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault on Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday for one hour prior to services.

The family prefers memorials be directed to the Benedictine Living Community of Owatonna in memory of Harvey.
