Herbert W. “Herb” Grems, age 85, of Faribault, MN, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2022, at his home following an extended illness.
Herbert William, the son of Seward and Velva (Langworthy) Grems was born at their family farm on December 15, 1936 in Wasioja Township, Dodge County, MN. He attended school in Dodge Center, MN. In February of 1955 he was united in marriage to Joan Putratz at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. They later divorced. On December 3, 1977 he was united in marriage to Linda Yankee at the Little Brown Church. Herb was a lifelong over the road truck driver and it took him all over the United States. He worked as an independent owner/operator for many years and also worked for Knutson Trucking and Wilkey Trucking over his career. Herb enjoyed spending time with his family and also enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting and driving truck.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda Grems of Faribault; by his children, Ricky (Debbie) Grems of Greeley, CO, Dennis (Cheryl) Grems of Cleveland, MN, Denice (John) Baier of Claremont, MN, Debe (Tom) Grunklee of Owatonna, MN, Randy Grems of Faribault, MN and Richard (Marcie) Webb of Morristown, MN; by 16 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; by his siblings, Harriet (Jerry) Finne of Apple Valley, MN and Harry Grems of Waseca, MN and by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his granddaughter, Brianna Grems in 2004, by his grandson, Christopher Hendrickson in 2007 and by brothers and sisters.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home with Pastor Steven Crombie from The River Community Church in Faribault officiating.
Memorial visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home on Tuesday from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m.
