James F. "Jim" Savoie Sr.

James F. “Jim” Savoie Sr., age 72, of Bloomington, MN passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at the Martin Luther Care Center in Bloomington, MN following an extended illness.

James Francis, the son of Francis and Margaret (Zabel) Savoie, was born on March 8, 1954, in Faribault, MN. He graduated from Faribault High School in 1972. Jim worked his entire career with Genpak, working as the Plant Supervisor until he retired. He also provided excavating services on new homes and wiring for many concerts. He was married to Diane Springer on September 21, 1974. Jim achieved many belts in karate, had a great love for his dogs, and would talk endlessly on the phone with family and friends. Most of all he loved spending time at his hobby shop, where he would work on cars and most anything else he could take apart. His favorite car that he worked on was his Chevelle. Jim also enjoyed snowmobiling and family time at the cabin on Roberds Lake.

He is survived by his wife, Diane Savoie; sons, James F. Savoie Jr. (Stephanie) and Josh Savoie (Alechia); grandchildren, Dylan, Abigail, Estella, Alexis, Braylon, and Vanessa; siblings, Richard Savoie (Bonnie), Kathy Robertson (Kenny), Mike Parkos (Lucy), and Francine Stadler; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Parkos; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Margaret; siblings, Gary Parkos, and Kevin Savoie; brother-in-law, Bill Stadler; and niece, Angie Stadler.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home, 1725 Lyndale Ave. N., Faribault, with Bernadette Tatge, officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 15th from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m.
