Jared Selly

Jared J. Selly, age 32 of McFarland, WI, and formerly of Faribault, MN, passed away unexpectedly on September 25, 2019 in McFarland, WI.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, Faribault.  Interment will be held at a later date.

Memorial visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home, 1725 Lyndale Ave. N., Faribault, and on Saturday for one hour prior to the services at the church.

Jared Jeffrey, the son of Jeffrey and Linda (Stoever) Selly was born on October 8, 1986 in Faribault.  He graduated from Faribault High School with the class of 2005.  During high school, Jared was in many activities and sports including football, wrestling, and track.  Jared was involved in Scouting for many years and on Nov. 17, 2002 he was awarded his Eagle Scout Badge.  Jared volunteered with many different organizations and took great joy in helping others.  He also enjoyed many outdoor activities, including hunting and fishing, and enjoyed the companionship of his dog Toby.  Jared obtained his undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his Masters in Social Work also at Madison.  He has worked for Dane County since 2011 in the Family and Children Social Work department.

He is survived by his parents, Jeff and Linda Selly of Faribault; his siblings, Aaron Selly of Faribault, Amanda Selly (Joe Hemker) of Rochester, MN, and Luke Selly (Stephanie) of Davenport, IA; his grandmother, Barbara Selly of Lakeville, MN; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Leonard and Gladys Stoever; and his paternal grandfather, Patrick Selly.
