John Hanscom

John Floyd Hanscom Sr., age 87, of Faribault died Thursday, April 2, 2009 at the St. Lucas Care Center in Faribault.             Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, at Sacred Heart in Faribault. Interment will be held at the Calvary Cemetery, Faribault with military honors provided by the Rice County Central Veterans Association.             Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday for one hour prior to services.             Arrangements are being completed by the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault.             John Floyd Hanscom was born to Floyd and Rose (Barry) Hanscom. On September 28, 1942 he was united in marriage to Marcelline Muhl at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Faribault. John served with the U.S. Sea Bees during World War II in the South Pacific. He enjoyed spending time with all of his family.             He is survived by his wife Marcelline Hanscom of Faribault; by seven children, Mary Anne (Jim) Smith of Faribault, John Jr. (Judy) Hanscom of Faribault, Robert (Mary Jo) Hanscom of Burnsville, MN, Daniel (June) Hanscom of Hugo, MN, David (Patty) Hanscom of Faribault, Christine (Mark) Stabnow of La Crosse, WI and Michael (Pat) Hanscom of Shakopee, MN; by many grandchildren and great grandchildren; by his sister, Helen Felten of Prescott, AZ; by his brother, Tom Hanscom of Tulsa, OK; by his son in law, Jerry Hortsch of Sauk Rapids, MN and by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.             He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Kay Anthony Hortsch, by his sister, Florence Voegele and by two brothers, James and William Hanscom.
