John L. Ranslow, age 77, of Morristown, MN, died on Sunday, August 10, 2025 at his home.
John Ranslow, the son of Marion Brush, was born on October 11, 1947 in Iowa City, IA. His family moved to Faribault, MN and he attended Faribault Senior High School and graduated with the class of 1966. After high school John worked for a short time at the Faribault Regional Center and then served in the U.S. Army from December of 1967 to December of 1969. On May 18, 1968 he was united in marriage to Ann Miller in Faribault, MN. After his discharge from the Army, John graduated from the nursing program at Mankato State University. He then returned to the Faribault Regional Center as an RN and finished his career working at the Minnesota Veterans Home totaling 35 years until his retirement in June 2002.
John enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also enjoyed collecting coins, sports cards and singing in the Faribault Community Choir. Traveling was a passion of his, whether that be to his military reunions with his brother or taking bus trips where he met a lot of interesting people and friends. His most recent pleasure was his daily aerobic swimming and going to coffee with friends.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ann Ranslow of Morristown, MN; by two children, Nancy Titus (Jeff) of Geneva, MN and Rick Ranslow (Rhonda) of Bowling Green, KY; by five grandchildren, Julia Titus (Jordan and Thomas), Tyler Ranslow, Tyson Ranslow, Kelson Titus (Kayla and Jude), and Tanner Ranslow (Sophia and Grayson); by sister-in-law, Kay Ranslow as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Marion (Otto) Brush; brothers, Dick, Jack, Randy, and Jerry Ranslow; sister, Judy; sister-in-law, Linda Ranslow; and father and mother-in-law, Frederick and Lorraine Miller.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault.
