John B. Rice, age 84 of Kenyon, MN formerly of Faribault, MN passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at his home.

John Bruce, the son of Carroll and Francies (Tibbils), was born on April 13, 1942 in Detroit Lakes, MN. John grew up in Detroit Lakes and graduated from Detroit Lakes High School with the Class of 1960. He attended Moorhead State University before enlisting in the Army National Guard. After his time with the National Guard, John worked for Crown Cork & Seal for 27 years. He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Sandra Siegfried on November 29, 1976 in Mason City, IA. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, going to their cabin up north, traveling to Texas, being an amateur radio operator, and spending time with his family. He was also a part of SkyWarn in Faribault and volunteered at Roosevelt Elementary School following his retirement.

John is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sandy; daughters, Dawn (John) Delaske, Lora (Burt) West, Lynn (Tony) Branch, Lisa (Ambrose) DeGidio, Leslie Rice (Scott), and Leah (Steve) Oren; grandchildren, Cassie (Adam), John (Lauren), Nicole, Katherain, Nathan (Kaylyn), Breanne, Anthony, Andrew, Kjersten, and Parker; great-grandchildren, Sophie, Rex, Zaiden, Emry, Thea, Caspian, and Rowan; sister, Ann Blue; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial visitation will be held on Monday, June 1, 2026 from 4:30 to 6:30 P.M. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home. Military Honors will be provided by the Rice County Central Veteran’s Association prior to the visitation.

Funeral arrangements are being completed by the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory.
