Joseph B. "Joe" Edel

Joseph B. “Joe” Edel, age 94 of Faribault, MN passed away on Monday, September 8, 2025 at Milestone Senior Living in Faribault.

Joseph Benedict, the son of Joseph and Emma (Velishek) Edel was born on March 20, 1931 in Faribault, MN. He attended Montgomery High School and graduated with the class of 1949. On August 12, 1953 he was united in marriage to Dolores Tebo at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Faribault. They later divorced. Joe worked as a carpenter for over 40 years and owned and operated his own company, Joe Edel Construction until his retirement in 1988. Joe was a talented wood worker and was very handy at making anything someone would want. He also enjoyed working in his garden and spent many hours there weekly taking care of his crops that he was growing. He also enjoyed bowling, fishing and going on fishing trips with family and friends. Joe lived at Roberds Lake for over 60 years and enjoyed living there very much.

He is survived by his children, Gail (Rick) Paquette of Faribault, MN and Mark (Erin) Edel of Owatonna, MN; by four grandchildren, Jake Dube, Owen Dube, Joe Edel and Anna Bode, by two great grandchildren, Landon Dube and Luke Dube, and by one great great grandchild, Tucker and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Alvin and Marvin Edel, his sister, Leatrice Malecha and by his former wife, Dolores Edel.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Divine Mercy Catholic Church in Faribault, with Fr. Cory Rohlfing officiating. Interment will be held at Trebon Cemetery in Shieldsville Township, Rice County, MN.

Visitation will be held at the church on Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
