Joseph D. Paukert, age 71, of Maplewood, MN passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul.
Memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at 6:00 P.M. Parker Kohl Funeral & Crematory in Faribault, with Bernadette Tatge, pastoral minister of Divine Mercy Catholic Church, officiating. Interment will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Joseph Desmond, the son of Bertram and Margaret (Wintheiser) Paukert, was born on December 21, 1948 in Owatonna, MN. Joe grew up on the family farm in Claremont, MN and graduated from Claremont High School with the class of 1967. Following high school, Joe enlisted in the Air Force and served from 1968-1972. He was stationed in Thailand during the Vietnam War. After he was honorably discharged, Joe worked as a Metal X-ray Technician. When he wasn’t working he enjoyed cheering on all the Minnesota sports teams and getting together with his family.
Joe is survived by 13 siblings, Charlotte Worthy, Shirley (Bob) Peirce, Dick (Joanne) Paukert, David (Margaret) Paukert, Dan (Barb) Paukert, Mary Paukert, Angela Berge, Andy (Judy) Paukert, June Hoffmann, Jeanette (Dave) Johnson, Mark (Lori) Paukert, Tony (Annette Day) Paukert, and Bob Paukert; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one nephew.
