Kathleen K. Ozmun, age 80, of Faribault, MN, passed away April 5, 2026, following an extended illness.
Kathleen Kay, the daughter of Raymond and Marcella (Simmons) Thompson, was born on September 13, 1945, in Mankato, MN. She grew up in Eagle Lake, MN, and later moved to Faribault, graduating from Faribault High School with the class of 1963. She was married to Charles Ozmun on November 2, 1963, they raised two daughters and were later divorced. Kathleen was a cook for C&S Vending for 10 years, then was the head cook for the Faribault Senior Center for 21 years. She was known for her beautiful flower gardens and excelling at cooking and baking. Kathleen volunteered for many years at Fashions On Central, where she made great friends. She enjoyed traveling after her retirement and loved her cats, Izzy and Bean. Kathleen developed a close relationship with the neighboring family, becoming a “grandma” to the Bice family.
She is survived by her daughters, Ronda Springer, and Stacey Trahan (Scott); four grandchildren, Adam Springer, Alex Springer, Andrew Trahan (Kaitie), and Dillon Trahan (Mandi); five great grandchildren, Ryan and Chloe Trahan, Eleanor, Everett, and Memphis Trahan; siblings, Sharon Kadrlik, Michael Thompson (Renae), Christine Drawert (David), and Brenda Thompson; sisters-in-law, Charlotte Teske, Jean Hagenbrock, Theresa Ozmun, Linda Ozmun, and Mary Ann Thompson; brother-in-law, Stanley Babcock; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her twin sister at birth; parents, Raymond and Marcella; sister, Sandy Luckow (Ronald); brother, Frank Thompson; former husband, Charles Ozmun; son-in-law, Raymond Springer and brother-in-law, Dick Kadrlik.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home, 1725 Lyndale Ave. N., Faribault, with Rev. Grant Aaseng, visitation pastor of First English Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will be at the Meadow Ridge Memorial Park in Faribault at a later date.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Bianca and the St. Croix Hospice team for the exceptional care they provided for Kathleen.
