Lawrence Dozark

Lawrence "Larry" Dozark, age 88, of Faribault, MN, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Faribault Senior Living.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, Faribault. Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Faribault.

Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault on Monday from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. and on Tuesday for one hour prior to the services at the church.

Lawrence Andrew was born on November 30, 1928 in Faribault to Frank and Mary (Finnegan) Dozark. He graduated from Faribault High School with the class of 1947. Larry was united in marriage to Arlene Morkre on August 19, 1950 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Kenyon, MN. Together they raised their family and were married for 62 years. Arlene preceded him in death on April 12, 2013. Larry had a lengthy 45-year career as a lather, working 27 years for Conroy Brothers and other companies. After retirement he enjoyed driving school bus for Faribault Transportation. He used his skills to build and remodel his own homes along with assisting his children with their own home building projects. Larry consistently volunteered himself in many ways. He was a Scoutmaster when his children where young. He was faithful to his church and was involved in the church council, choir, and as a Eucharistic Minister at the hospital. He delivered Meals on Wheels and was a dedicated member of the Faribault Council 889 Knights of Columbus, serving as gambling manager and Past Grand Knight. Most of all, Larry treasured his family, embracing their gatherings with true passion, cherishing their time together. When parting ways, he always gave a hug, a kiss, and said "I Love You". He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by seven children, Patrick (Risha) Dozark of Houston, TX, Michael Dozark of Minneapolis, MN, Peter (Lori) Dozark of Rochester, MN, Mary (Dan) Janovsky of Faribault, Daniel (Linda) Dozark of Apple Valley, MN, Nancy (Tom) Clark of Faribault, and David (Jamila) Dozark of Faribault; 12 grandchildren, Daniel, Cory, Kari, Brian, Kelly, Aaron, Brianne, Matthew, Hannah, Andrew, Joseph, and Zoea; 14 great grandchildren; brother, Frank (Cathy) Dozark of Aurora, IL; his kitty companion, Buddy; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene; daughter, Carolyn Dozark; great granddaughter, Aubrey Dozark; parents, Frank and Mary; and brother, Cletus Dozark.
