Lawrence “Larry” A. Condon, age 82, of Faribault, MN, passed away September 22, 2023, at the St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester following a brief illness.
Lawrence Allen was born on January 1, 1941, in Minneapolis, MN, to Edmund and Kathleen (Tornes) Condon. He graduated from Faribault High School with the class of 1959. On May 6, 1959, he was united in marriage to Jeanann Gare. Larry worked for Northfield Machine and Foundry, Northfield Equipment, Data Action, and Truth Hardware. He enjoyed operating machine shop equipment, refurbishing old tractors and equipment, and mowing grass. Larry was a member and vice president of the Rice County Steam and Gas Engine Club, and a member of the Rice County Bluebird Association. Larry and Jean enjoyed traveling and took many trips to the Cayman Islands. They also camped up north at Little Boy Lake and in South Dakota at the Missouri River with their son. For many years they took summer trips to Jellystone Park in Wisconsin with their grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, James (Gladys) Condon of Plymouth, MN and their children, Parker, Evan, and Alyssa; Robert (Amy) Condon of Montrose, SD and their children, Cody, Katelyn, and Jenna; Christina Sobiech and Tim Crystal of Helena, MT and her children, Isabelle (Brian) Shepard and Vincent; Angela Heyer of Canton, GA, and her children, Dylan, Logan, Blake, and Brennan; and Jolene (Jason) Leet of Faribault, MN, and their children, Madelyn, Connor, and Alex; by great grandson, Theodore Shepard; by his faithful dog, Charlie; siblings, Joyce Bokman of Faribault, and Donald Condon of New Richland, MN; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean on August 24, 2023; parents, Edmund and Kathleen; and brother, Stephen Condon, and a brother in infancy, Robert Condon.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 28, at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, Faribault. Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Faribault.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home, 1725 Lyndale Ave. N., and on Thursday for one hour prior to the services at the church.
