Leonard L. Feyereisn, age 89, of Faribault, MN, passed away March 15, 2026, at the Allina Health Medical Center in Faribault, following a brief illness.
Leonard Lawrence, the son of Harold and Marguerite (Warmington) Feyereisn, was born on April 7, 1936, in Faribault. He graduated from Faribault High School with the class of 1955, then served in the U.S. Army. Leonard worked as the Plant Maintenance Engineer at the Faribault State Hospital for 30 years. In addition to working at the State Hospital, he drove school bus, and painted cars. For many years he was a breeder and raised dogs, German Short Hair Pointers, and Gordon Setters. Leonard enjoyed many outdoor activities, including, hunting, fishing, camping, snowmobiling, and boating.
He is survived by his children, Sue Hunt (Gerry), and Jim Feyereisn; daughter-in-law, Lynn Feyereisn; grandchildren, Jenny Ruiz (Carlos), Chad Hunt (Krystal Dube), Jami Detlie (Joel Crombie), James Feyereisn II, John Feyereisn (Erica), Joe Feyereisn (fiancé, Stephanie Brockman), Brent Feyereisn, and Melissa Feyereisn (Josh Ferch); 19 great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; and many other relative and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Marguerite; sons, Dan Feyereisn, and Randy Feyereisn; mother of his children, Ardith (Young) Buan; and spouse, Carmen (Thibodeau) Feyereisn.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, March 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home, 1725 Lyndale Ave. N., Faribault, with Deacon Dan Murphy, officiating. Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Faribault, with military honors provided by the Rice County Central Veterans Association.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
