Linda K. Flicek, age 72 of Faribault, MN passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at the District One Hospital in Faribault.
Linda Kay, the daughter of Joseph and Shirley (Dahl) Nichols, was born on March 20, 1948 in Faribault. Linda attended Faribault High School and graduated with the Class of 1966. Following graduation, she was married and lived in North Carolina. She moved back to Minnesota and in 1973 she was an early Kidney Transplant recipient at the Rochester Mayo Clinic. She lived in country homes in the Faribault area. She worked for Pleasant Manor Nursing Home and then the Faribault Public School in their food services. Though she took very good care of her health and kidney, in 2001, Linda received her second kidney transplant. She was a proud member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Faribault. Linda was an outgoing and fun-loving daughter, sister, grandma, aunt and friend. When she was not working, she enjoyed playing cards and dice games, fishing, planning and attending family gatherings and being in nature. She loved spending time with her family and friends.
Linda is survived by her sisters, Sharon (Gary) Evans, Margaret Rapose, Becky (Eric) Anderson and Kimberly (Jimmy) Johnson; brother, Richard (Debra) Nichols; son, Jack (Stephanie) Flicek; grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; sister, Ruth Ann Flom; and brother, Charles Nichols.
Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory in Faribault with Pastor Dan Lazicki, of Bethel Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will be held at Meadow Ridge Memorial Park in Faribault. The service will also be live-streamed through a link found on Linda’s obituary page at www.parkerkohlfuneralhome.com.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
