Loretta Dwyer, age 87 of Faribault, MN, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at Faribault Senior Living.
Loretta Kathleen, the daughter of Leo and Eva (Thielbar) Koger, was born on June 25, 1936 in Dundas, MN. She attended Northfield High School and graduated with the Class of 1954. She was united in marriage to Jerry Dwyer Sr. on April 12, 1958 in Faribault. Jerry and Loretta farmed for many years west of Faribault. In addition to raising the family, she would assist with the day-to-day farming tasks. She also worked many years at the State Bank of Faribault. After her retirement from the bank, Loretta spent years volunteering in many capacities including the District One gift shop and was very active in the Eagles Auxiliary. While she wasn’t working or volunteering, Loretta enjoyed crocheting, going to auctions and putting puzzles together. She also loved gardening and the flowers she grew. She loved to cook and bake and could make just about anything.
She loved people and she loved life. Visiting with people gave her much enjoyment. She spent her life surrounded by family - children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and siblings. Along with her own children, Loretta was "mom" to many other relatives and friends. She enjoyed any chance she could get to spend time with them and have fun. When her children were young, Loretta enjoyed quiet time with them, telling them stories, which she carried on with her grandchildren. The stories relating to her Thielbar heritage were a source of pride to her. She was the glue that held our family together and she will be missed greatly!
Loretta is survived by her children, Colleen (Paul) Froman of Faribault and their children, Josh (Molly) Froman (Genevieve, June and John), Sara (Jered) Anderson (Aiden, Alexis, Blake, and Alyssa), and Pat (Katie) Froman (Emma, Grace, and Mark), Maureen (Rich) Hill of Stoneville, NC and her children, Jacob (Jaimie) Voves (Marshall, Meadow, and Miles), Lucas (Shonda) Voves, Taylor (Jared) Naranjo, and Raelyn (Tier) Segre-Lewis, and Jerry (Lisa) Dwyer of Faribault and their children, Ryan (Kristin) Dwyer (Annie and Owen) and Adam (Erin) Dwyer; siblings, Darlene Poch, Rosalie Fuchs, Bob (Lynn) Koger, Tom (Sandy) Koger and Jean Klink; sister-in-law, Joan (Tom) Dee; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Sr.; infant son, Kevin; infant great granddaughter, Ada Froman; her parents; sister, Delores; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Henry and Agnes Dwyer; brothers-in-law, Ralph Fuchs, Gerhardt Poch, Tim Klink, James Dwyer Sr., and Don Brown; and sister-in-law, Patty Brown.

Loretta was very proud of the fact that she has chosen to donate her body to the medical sciences. As she always said, " I'm off to college!"
