Marian Kosanda

Marian Kosanda, age 93, of Faribault, MN, passed away September 6, 2023, at the Benedictine Senior Living in Northfield, MN.

Marian was born on September 21, 1929, in Faribault, MN, to Leo and Mayme (McDonough) McCullough.  She graduated from Bethlehem Academy High School.  Marian was a teacher for many years, teaching in several country schools.  She was married to Clarence Kosanda on May 13, 1952, at the Church of St. Patrick in Shieldsville.  She and Clarence were very involved in the Shieldsville community, with Marian being honored as the Queen of Shieldsville in the Memorial Day parade.

She is survived by her children, Patty Murphy (John), Mary Lokken (Stan), Elaine Anderson (Mitch), Deb Morgan (Dennis), and Jeff Kosanda (Darla); nine grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; sisters, Eileen Selly and Rita Headline; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; parents, Leo and Mayme McCullough; grandson, J.J. Murphy; and sisters, Celeste Preble and Grace Hankins.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, September 11, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of St. Patrick in Shieldsville, 7525 Dodd Road, Faribault.  Private family interment will follow at the St. Patrick Cemetery.  There will be no visitation or reviewal prior to the service.
